Kaitlynd Keim
Teacher/Communications Manager/Head of Early Childhood Division
Kaitlynd Keim began her dance training at the South Dayton School of Dance at the age of three and continued her studies with South Dayton Dance Theatre under the direction of Liz Karns, Gigi Gardner, and Erin Robbins. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Wright State University, where she also earned minors in Psychology and Business. During her time at Wright State, she trained with Terri McWilliams, Gina Walther, Erin Robbins, Greg Robinson, Michelle Goodman, and Judd Gibbs, and worked with guest artists including Shannon Bramham, Greg Graham, John Leher, Ray Mercer, Lloyd Culbreath, and Dwight Rhoden.
As a choreographer, Kaitlynd’s work has received national recognition through Regional Dance America, including two Monticello Awards and scholarships to the National Choreographic Intensive. Her choreography has been selected for performance at the RDA National Festival and RDA/Northeast, and in 2017 she was invited to join RDA’s Choreography Connection program. She has since been commissioned to create original works for companies throughout the region.
Kaitlynd began teaching at the South Dayton School of Dance in 2010 and has developed a career spanning dance education, choreography, artistic leadership, and curriculum development. She developed SDSD’s Early Childhood Division curriculum and has collaborated with faculty in developing the school’s Modern, Jazz, and Tap curricula. She continues to teach and mentor dancers across all levels while serving in leadership with the South Dayton School of Dance and South Dayton Dance Theatre and volunteering as a member of the SDDT Board of Directors.
Kaitlynd serves as an Adjunct Professor of Dance in the School of Fine and Performing Arts at Wright State University, where she teaches in the Musical Theatre Department.
Kaitlynd is committed to fostering rigorous, comprehensive dance training and preparing the next generation of dancers and performing artists for continued growth in both the classroom and professional environment.
