Amanda Sortman

Teacher/Social Media Coordinator

Amanda started dancing here at SDSD in 1992 at the age of 3 and danced with SDDT for 9 years. In 2012, she graduated cum laude from Wright State University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance. Following graduation, she began dancing professionally with MamLuft & Company Dance in Cincinnati for 2 years. She came back home to teach at SDSD in 2014 and is very excited to continue her teaching career here. She choreographed a modern piece, "Blinded" for SDDT that was performed at RDA/NE 2016 in Erie, PA. Amanda has worked with and studied under many renowned choreographers and instructors such as: Gina Walther, Debbie Blunden-Diggs, William B. McClellan Jr., Shannon Branham, Rick Conant, Keisha Lalama, Jon Lehrer, and Jeanne Mam-Luft.
